Rusty Sculptures by Russ Brebner
Russ has lived on the Mornington Peninsula
for more than 10 years and creating recycled metal sculptures for almost as
long.
Russ creates all kinds of metal creatures.
Animals, birds, robots, ray guns and everything in between.
Each work contains many recycled metals
sourced from around Melbourne and surrounding areas.
In 2012 he was fortunate enough to be
selected as an artist for the Mali in the City program for the Royal Melbourne
Zoo.
Rusty Mali was created with thousands
of metal pieces sculpted together in the shape of a baby elephant. Rusty Mali was on display in the city for six weeks before being auctioned for charity.
In 2015 Russ collaborated with Frankston
City to design and construct decorative sculptures for the festive program
including reindeer and large tree structures.
He continues to collect metals for his
creations.
After all, its half the fun.
